Role Overview:

As a Junior Service Technician, you will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of entrance control systems. With the support of more experienced engineers, you will gain valuable experience and contribute to providing excellent service to our customers. This role is perfect for someone looking to develop their technical expertise in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation and setup of entrance control systems, including turnstiles, gates, barriers, and access control systems.
  • Help with system testing, calibration, and troubleshooting during installation.
  • Support Senior Service Engineers during on-site setups and installations, ensuring systems meet customer specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on installed systems, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting mechanical and electrical components.
  • Assist in the diagnosis and troubleshooting of system issues, under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Ensure systems are operating efficiently, identifying potential issues and notifying senior engineers for further action.
  • Assist in identifying faults in electrical, mechanical, and software systems.
  • Replacing or repairing defective components such as motors, sensors, and circuit boards.
  • Fix issues with the entrance control systems and ensure minimal downtime for clients, with the support from senior engineers.
  • Provide basic on-site support to clients by answering questions, providing technical assistance, and explaining system functionality.
  • Visit client sites to assist with service calls and ensure smooth operations during system repairs or upgrades.
  • Maintain professional and friendly customer relationships during on-site visits.
  • Maintain detailed records of all service activities, including maintenance tasks, repairs, and parts used.
  • Assist in the preparation of service reports for clients and internal documentation.
  • Document any recurring issues and assist senior engineers in developing solutions or improvements.

Requirements:

  • Some experience (internships, apprenticeships, or coursework) in a technical or engineering role is preferred but not required.
  • A basic understanding of electronics, mechanical systems, or security systems is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical circuits, motors, sensors, and mechanical systems.
  • Comfortable working under the guidance of senior engineers and collaborating with other teams.
  • Hands-on experience with tools and diagnostic equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to think critically and approach problems with a methodical approach.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting and basic repairs of electronic or mechanical systems.
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and take direction from more experienced engineers.
  • Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or currently pursuing one).
  • Additional certifications or courses in security systems or electrical maintenance are a plus.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving technologies and processes.
